When 2 Corinthians 4:15 gripped my heart a few years ago, for the first time I saw the cause of my life clearly. I exist to passionately pursue the glory of God as a catalyst for the spread of His grace far and wide so that people may give praise and thanksgiving to Him so that He may be supremely glorified.
Paul said it this way, “For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God” (2 Cor. 4:15).
Recently I read the poignant words of John Phillips in his commentary on Genesis. He writes:
The moves a spiritual man will always lead to ultimate fruitfulness. That does not necessarily mean that the spiritual man will lead thousands to Christ. He may lead only one, but that one might be a Spurgeon or a D.L. Moody. Reading the book of Romans changed the life of Martin Luther. Reading Luther’s preface to his commentary on Romans transformed the life of John Wesley. Attending a chapel of Primitive Methodists, one of the groups following the teachings of John Wesley, led to the conversion of C.H. Spurgeon. Spurgeon touched the life of young Hebry Morehouse, who in turn transformed the ministry of D.L. Moody. Attending one of Moody’s meetings transformed the life of C.T. Studd and six others who became known as the Cambridge Seven. They in turn swept across the universities of England and Scotland, stirring students everywhere to lives of devotion and service for God overseas. That is spiritual posterity. That is the kind of spiritual chain reaction that results when God blesses a man (John Phillips, Exploring Genesis. p. 124).
This is why I exist…it’s why every Christian exists. It’s the heart beat of Spread of Grace Ministries. Be faithful to serve the God of grace for His glory through the spread of His grace to the people of the earth!
