When you can feel the heat rising within you because of a perceived slight or wrong against you, more than likely it’s sinful anger. When the first response is a sinful response, like pulling away from fellowship or thinking ill of/toward the person or circumstance, it’s likely to be sinful anger.
The “Equip” Conference aims to equip pastors and church leaders in the most rural or neglected villages and small towns of under-developed countries to provide those leaders, who do not already have ready access to training materials and instruction, with both materials and instruction to assist in ministry within the local church.
Here we are in our mostly nice buildings, with fairly comfortable seats, singing well written music engaging in the sometimes-more-than-occasional squabbles among “church people”, when there are millions unreached around the world.
“Nothing makes a church grow fat and strong like the precious Word of God. How we delight to have the Lord talk to us from His Word” (Pastor Warren Helder).
I love the Local Church. In eternity we will forever be joined together–this present joy is simply the appetizer to heaven!
I suppose that from my earliest days I remember being involved with the local church. The actual earliest memory that I have of “church things” is sitting near the back of a building on a pew (organ side) and eating a snack of fruit loops or some kind of cereal from a plastic baggie. That is, as honestly as I can say it, my earliest memory of the church. And that was actually in the church I currently serve, Calvary Bible Church.
The Local Church must intentionally endeavor to evangelize the world. This requires the concerted effort of a God-ordained local church, not simply of an individual. Moreover, the missions agency is no substitute for the the local church. Simply put, God did not ordain an organization for world evangelization but an organism–the Church of the living God.
God has not ordained an organization to accomplish world evangelization, God has ordained an organism…the Local Church. It is from this realization that we’ve developed the concept that we call, “Local Church World Evangelization”. It is the effort of each local church to effectively spread the Gospel of grace both locally and cross-culturally.
